oh yeah

Forgot to talk about today.. today we went to the local school to help teach the english class (the english teacher doesnt know very much english). It was really fun, but the teacher wanted us to teach them simple childrens songs and stuff like that and we were very unprepared. We taught them "jingle bells" "if youre happy and you know it" and "head shoulders knees and toes.." If anyone can think of some other simple songs/games to do with elementary school kids please send them to me! Its been a long time for us, so Im hoping you parents can help out (kk, dawn, tate)! Thanks!

  1. Looks like you're having fun down there. That's good to see. Cool pics. Too bad you're not in any of them. So will your address change once you move? Some good children songs are B-I-N-G-O, Old McDonald Had a Farm, Yankee Doodle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and If You're Happy and You Know It.

Some kids games are Duck, Duck, Goose, Hide and Seek, Freeze Tag, Partner Tag (or whatever that's called), Red Rover ("Rojo Rover, que venga Daveed"?), Hopscotch, and Four Square.

How are you coping with the Spanish? Do you find that you're understanding pretty much everything said in a conversation the first time through, yet? Are you thinking in Spanish at all yet, where your first instinct, at least sometimes, is Spanish? It could take a bit longer to get to that point--not sure. Have you picked up the slang or crutch words or the tone of voice used with specific words? If so, have you started to use those a lot? (For instance, in English we say: man, like, you know, sooo rad, well, anyway, catcha later, gimme a break, etc.)

    You're constantly in our prayers.

  2. Along with what Tate said, my kids like "Pop Corn Popping", "Give Said A Little Stream", "Wheels On The Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Row, Row, Row your Boat"

Sounds like so much FUN! :)

  8. Very cool!! Mom said you are in a new area so now we need that address! I have been collecting pix to send you. Was thinking of making brownies but fear they'd be stale before they got there. ;) My kids liked singing 'I'm a little teapot' too. They got alot of the games covered. You could teach them rock paper scissors. Luv you and pray for you. have fun!
